The junior doctors of today are our consultants of tomorrow

I recognise the frustration of Dr Kerry Maxwell (May 2) trying to penetrate the industrial action smoke screen caused by various contributors to the junior doctors protest.

I wonder do the public know why we have Rapid Response Advanced Ambulance Paramedics?

It came because Ambulance Services nationally were forced in 1989 - 1990 to engage in strike action to challenge arrogant government ministers and health service bureaucrats to address the needs of ‘ Emergency Care-On-The-Streets’ of Britain.

It was not all about money although they did receive a salary structure to place them within a similar framework with other emergency services. Thanks to some senior medical physicians, improved training was given and licenced.

Our junior doctors are our consultants of tomorrow so their case needs listened to and settled.

Any inconvenience not properly addressed today will create serious problems for tomorrow.
