We need modern airport infrastructure

Ben Lowry's article on the success of Dublin Airport (September 3) is spot on and a reminder of the many years wasted in Ulster with little joined up vision by mostly successive politicians who we depend on to develop a regional strategy supported by necessary funding.

I travel occasionally to USA and while I mostly use Belfast International I have used Dublin, where USA border security is provided before arriving in the States and simplifying the procedure.

We are bogged down here with sluggish bureaucracy, party political agendas, and super egos while the commoners put up with what can only be described as incompetence.

We do not even have a railway to our International Airport. When our leaders travelled to other nations and saw modern infrastructures what did thy try to do about it at home?
