Windsor opening night invitee list was too wide

The opening of the refurbished Windsor Park stadium was totally mishandled by the IFA.

The only ‘legends’ who should have been invited were ex Northern Ireland soccer internationals.

Once it was decided to extend invitations to some famous fans the IFA left itself open to criticism, as there will always be people prepared to play the victim, considering themselves more famous than they actually are and perhaps claiming to be fans when they may not be.

Were the following people invited? Phil Coulter, Willie John McBride, Tony McCoy, Jimmy Cricket, Oisin McConville, Van Morrison. Perhaps they were invited but if not they also could be aggrieved.

By trying to be inclusive the IFA has ended up being exclusive.

They appear to have forgotten lesson No.1.

This is Northern Ireland we live in.
