Would unionists accept a vote for a united Ireland?

Ben Lowry [Comment, Jan 30] stated: 'You could write at length disproving the nationalist myths, and I hope that academics like Henry Patterson will do so ...'

Regarding nationalist myths: The Irish News [Jan 25] reported that Martin Mc Guinness said that the forthcoming elections on both sides of the border had the “potential to be defining points on the road towards the peaceful and democratic reunification of our country”.

That could be the main nationalist myth.

Would unionists, even if they were outvoted in a border poll, allow themselves to be roped into a united Ireland in any shape or form?

Ben or somebody should do the needful.
