Wrong to close cathedral at Easter
The closure of Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin on Easter Sunday is a death-blow to those of us seeking reconciliation in Ireland, and especially to Anglicans like myself sympathetic to the Irish desire for an independent Ireland and a sovereign parliament in the tradition of Gladstone and Parnell.
The closure of Christ Church Cathedral Dublin together with St Ann´s Church in Dawson Street and other Anglican churches in the centre of Dublin on Easter Sunday of all days (the most solemn and sacred day in the Anglican Communion if I need to spell this out to politicians otherwise mesmerised by political correctness towards all non-Christian communities) is a bridge too far for me.
It ought to be a bridge too far for every practising member of the Church of Ireland.
