Paul McCauley's mother passes away after illness
The mother of Londonderry sectarian attack victim Paul McCauley has passed away after an illness.
Cathy McCauley died yesterday after a long illness.
Her 38-year-old son Paul passed away in a care unit last summer, nine years after he was attacked by a mob at a barbecue in the Waterside.
He never regained consciousness after the attack.
Only one person has ever been convicted over the attack, although up to 15 people are believed to have been involved.
Mrs McCauley’s funeral will take place on Friday morning at St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road at 10am.
