Pensioner who died after Londonderry crash is named

The 70-year-old man who died after being struck by a car in Londonderry last night has been named.

He was 70 year old James Brendan O’Connor from the Londonderry area.

The collision at Culmore Road was reported to police shortly before 6.55pm.

TPolice investigating the circumstances of the collision are appealing for witnesses.

The number to call 101.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and questioned in connection with the collision.

He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.
