Coronavirus NI: 5 deaths from COVID-19 - 1,039 new infections - 289 patients with virus in NI hospitals - 32 patients fighting for lives in ICU

Another 5 people have died with COVID-19, the latest Department of Health dashboard has revealed.

That brings the number of deaths here to 629.

Four people died within the last 24 hours and the fifth person did not died within that period.

To date 337 men and 291 women have died with the virus.

Meanwhile another 1,039 people have been diagnosed with the virus.

That means that within the last 7 days 6,691 people have been diagnosed with having COVID-19.

The latest dashboard also shows that there are 289 people with confirmed COVID-19 in hospital.

There are now 32 people with Covid fighting for their lives in ICU.

According to the dash board the ICU patients are being treated in: 5 in Altnagelvin in the north west - 1 in Antrim Area - 16 in Belfast City Hospital - 2 in the Causeway Hospital - 3 in Craigavon Area Hospital.

There are now 83 confirmed COVID-19 cases in NI Care Homes - and 10 suspected cases.
