Eamonn Holmes reveals on-air he is to be a grandfather – adding he’s too young
The Belfast-born presenter, aged in his early 60s, made the announcement on his ITV This Morning show, which he presents alongside wife Ruth Langsford.
He had trailed the announcement beforehand, saying on Twitter last night:

“I hope you will be happy for me because I am over the moon.
“It’s, even for the moment, made me forget my #ChronicPain - yes it’s that good.”
He had earlier gone public with his struggles with serious back pain.

Hide AdHe told viewers this morning: “Now folks there is something I want to talk to you about today. It has been a tough year for everybody - and it has been a tough week for me.
“I do not like complaining but I have been in a lot of pain.
“It has not been a good time and I have been in tears. And I have been in tears again here.
“Declan, my eldest boy, and Jenny, his partner, have announced that I will be a grandparent.
