Emergency crews scrambled after walker sustains head injury in Mourne mountains
Around 3.15pm the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team received a request to assist a walker who had fallen while descending the Glen River path from Slieve Donard - sustaining a head injury.
The team responded along with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service paramedics to the scene where Northern Ireland Fire Service personnel, who were first on site, had provided initial first aid to the casualty.

Hide AdThe casualty was treated and carried by stretcher for transfer to an ambulance.
In a post the Mourne Mountains Rescue Team thank the local Fire Service and NIAS crews for their assistance.
They add that 18 members attended the rescue and the team stood down at 6pm.
