Former SDLP leader and Nobel laureate John Hume has made his final journey home to his native city for his funeral in St Eugene’s Cathedral

A socially distanced guard of honour made up of party activists watched on as the procession made its way to the doors of the cathedral.

The remains of politician John Hume return to his parish church of St Eugenes . Members of the SDLP and other mourners lined the driveway of the church with candles. His wife Pat, and family were present.
