Owner Tom Greene said: “We are delighted and extremely proud of receiving this award. This is recognition to each and every member of the team, and their hard work and dedication, who without, this award and recognition could never have been achieved.”

More than 500 retailers entered the Neighbourhood Retailer Awards with Greene’s Centra winning Forecourt of the Year (Category 1 - with c-store up to 2,950 sq. ft).

Independently judged by Spotcheck, the awards were judged to exacting standards over a three-month period.

The judges said: “This busy site set a superb standard with its exceptionally clean, pristine environment and impressive range of services. The professional team delivered fast, efficient service while building genuine rapport with every customer who pulled onto the forecourt."

Employing 41 people locally, Tom Greene only opened the outlet 8 years ago. It’s viewed as a hugely successful one-stop shop.

It has a wealth of assets from a well stocked supermarket to a hot and cold food deli. From fuel pumps to a laundromat, plus an off licence and a 3-bay hot jet car wash, it has just about everything.

The burrito bar and ready made sandwiches plus the large coffee dock has proved very popular for workers on the run, picking up a snack or getting a full lunch.

They are open 7 days a week and even have a picnic area. Plus they have Inpost lockers and Oopod lockers.

Greene’s is a neighbour safety zone for children’s after school for pick up. They also have a defibrillator on site as well as a Life vac choking device.

As well as a Paypoint and Lottery facility, you can also get your dog washed.

But it is much more than just a facility to pop into. Greene’s is very much embedded into the community, sponsoring many local clubs in partnership with NI Air Ambulance.

And while maintaining a highly professional service, Greene’s also went through a major refurbishment last year.

They are also looking forward to new facilities coming onsite with more exciting plans for their existing extensive carport.

The Neighbourhood Retailer Awards celebrates 30 years of rewarding excellence, recognising achievement, raising industry standards, and rewarding entrepreneurial spirit and is NI’s most prestigious retail awards.

Publisher of Neighbourhood Retailer, Bill Penton said: “This is our annual celebration of top-class retailers from across NI and once again attracted a record number of entries.

“As the only voice for independent retailers here, this celebration is one of the most important for the industry in NI and the 2026 Gala Awards Dinner proved to be another essential event for retailers, their teams and for sales teams from across the UK.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our finalists and sponsors for their support of Neighbourhood Retailer and the awards and extend my congratulations once again to all our worthy winners.

"Congratulations to you and your team on winning this top industry award and thank you for supporting this key industry initiative.”
