A GoFundMe appeal by Mary Oldenburg from Larne in Co Antrim asks for the public to open their hearts to the children who are facing one of the most difficult Christmas periods in their lives.

In the appeal they say that Allison Kinghans was a “wonderful Mum, Sister and Friend”.

The appeal says: “Allison, passed away on 1st December 2020.

“Allison leaves behind her 4 young kids, Dylan, Jake, Holly and Grace.

“She lived for her kids, they were her whole world.

“A few of her friends have got together and wanted to give the kids some kind of Christmas.

“No amount of money can ever ease their heartache but we want them to know that we all loved and cared for their mum.

“It’s the least we can do, under this years circumstances.

“Thank you for taking the time to read this.

“Please donate what you can”.

A funeral notice says that Allison Brannigan (nee Kinghan) died on December 1.

She was the ‘beloved wife of Darren and loving mother of Dylan, Jake, Holly and Grace’.

Her funeral will take place on Saturday at 11am in St Trea’s Parish Centre Newbridge.

The notice adds that her death is ‘deeply regretted by her husband, sons, daughters and family circle’ and that due to the new government restrictions the House and Funeral will be Strictly Private (immediate family)
