Man in hospital after being injured by van in early hours - ‘man who is believed to have been lying in the road’

A man has been injured after being struck nu a van in the early hours of this morning.

A statement from the PSNI says: “Police are investigating a collision on Belfast Road in Crossgar early this morning, Monday 5 October.

“It’s understood a Ford Transit struck a man who is believed to have been lying in the road at around 4am”.

The statement adds that the 41-year-old man “sustained a number of injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment”.

“Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen anything that could help the investigation to please get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 128 05/10/20”.
