Man who died following Co Tyrone collision named by police

The 21-year-old motorist who died when his car left the Ballygawley Road near Dungannon early on Saturday morning has been named by police.

Patrick McGinn was taken to hospital after his vehicle was discovered in a ditch by the side of the road around 2.20am.

It is not thought that any other vehicles were involved.

On Monday, investigating officer Constable Michael McNee from Collision Investigation Unit, said: “It is understood the vehicle left the road and was observed in a ditch at 2.20am. The driver was taken to hospital and sadly passed away today.”

Police have said that their enquiries are continuing and they have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision, or captured it on their dash cam, to contact local officers in Dungannon or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 220 of 25/07/20.
