NI hotter than Rome today as it basks in temperatures of 23 Degrees Celsius

Meanwhile in Rome temperatures hit a slightly cooler 22 Degrees Celsius, according to worldtemperatures.com.This has been an unprecedented Spring for Northern Ireland - with more details on the record-breaking weather being released tomorrow.

A Tweet from the Met Office earlier today revealed that “the sunshine this spring has been record breaking!

“With one day still to go, the UK and each of the home nations have exceeded their spring sunshine records ☀️

“The full season’s provisional figures will be published tomorrow afternoon”.

According to the Met Office the top temperature today was felt in Strabane at 23 Degrees Celsius - followed swiftly by Ballymena at 22 Degrees Celsius and Belfast at 21 Degrees.

Met Office forecasters predict tonight will also be warm where “the rest of the night will remain dry across all areas with clear skies”.

It adds: “Becoming rather cool in rural areas. Minimum temperature 7 °C”.

Tomorrow will be another sensational day for NI according to the Met Office.

“Dry, sunny and warm again although perhaps turning cloudier across the far west later,” says the Met Office.

“Light winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C”.

Meanwhile the outlook for Tuesday to Thursday is “mostly dry and warm on Tuesday, showers spreading south in the evening”.

Met Office forecasters add it will be “cool and cloudy on Wednesday with showery rain, turning dry again on Thursday”.
