People gathering at local beauty spots - PSNI ask public to ‘stay home’ and ‘save lives’

The PSNI are advising the public to stay at home and save lives after it emerged that ‘a number of people gathered in the Peatlands Park and Loughgall areas’ this afternoon.

In a post on PSNI Craigavon Facebook page a spokesman said: “We are on patrol and speaking to people to remind them of how we can all stay safe by adhering to the direction given by our government.

“If you are out for your daily exercise period please stay close to home and avoid popular beauty spots and open areas to avoid creating a large gathering.

In another post PSNI Craigavon said they are “conducting patrols today to ensure everyone’s safety during #COVID19”.

“Our streets are almost empty and we would like to say thank you to all of you for playing your part.

“Also visiting stores across the area and everyone is showing patience and resolve. #StayHomeSaveLives”.
