Pilot not injured after light aircraft failure at NI airport

The undercarriage of a plane gave way on landing at Belfast International Airport this afternoon.

The N25XL C310 plane had touched down on Runway 25 and was taxiing when there appeared to be a “collapse” of the undercarriage.

The airport’s emergency services quickly responded and it is understood the pilot who was the only person on board.

He suffered no injuries.

An airport spokesperson said “A light aircraft suffered an undercarriage failure on landing at Belfast International Airport at approx 2pm today.

“The pilot onboard suffered no reported injuries.

“The airport remains open and operational with no disruption to flights.”
