‘Please wear a f****** mask’ pleads NI man still battling COVID-19

A 35-year-old NI chef is appealing for the public to “wise up” and “wear a f****** mask” as he continues to battle the symptoms of COVID-19 after being discharged from hospital.

In a message on Facebook James Doran, from Belfast, explains how he “a young fitt( ish ) and healthy” man tested positive for Coronavirus this month.

He writes: “On the 2nd on the month I tested positive for covid-19.

“I thought young guy fit( ish ) and healthy I should be ok.

“I was very wrong.

“Next day called an ambulance because I couldn’t breath.

“Ended up in the hospital on a breathing machine for 7 days.”

The post adds that he ended up in a situation where “People (were) losing their fight around me and thinking when is it my turn”.

He added that “day by day my oxygen levels started to go up” and eventually he got discharged to go home.

“I got discharged last week and I got home,” he wrote.

“I couldn’t really walk and my mind is very slow and the disorientation.

“I had pneumonia so my breathing isn’t great either.”

In the post he also praised his family and friends for their love and support.

He also paid and paid tribute to “the NHS staff who saved my life”.

“I will be forever in you debt . You are true heroes,” he added.
