Salting under way on ‘at risk’ NI routes - Gritter crashes on untreated road - motorists asked to ‘take care’

In a morning post they say: “#WINTERSERVICE risk of icy conditions on some roads West of province this morning.

“Salting has been underway on main routes likely to be affected.

“Road users are again advised to exercise caution when travelling, particularly when driving on untreated roads”.

In a second post they advise that a gritter lorry has been involved in a road traffic collision on its planned route.

The post says: “#WINTERSERVICE gritter lorry involved in RTC on Lisky Road #Strabane before completing it`s route!

“Crockanboy & Creggan roads in Carrickmore have not YET been gritted - will be by around 8am - Road users asked to exercise additional care until then - possible icy conditions”.
