The video appears to show a scuffle between a male wearing a GAA top and members of Silver Plains Flute Band at the demonstration on Wednesday.

In a statement on the band’s Facebook page, a spokesperson claimed that the male had previously got “within touching distance of the colour party” as he crossed the road, before the incident took place moments later.

Furthermore, the band stressed that “no violent clashes” occurred between anyone that was present and that there was “peaceful good atmosphere” in the town apart from this.

The statement read: "The band would like to say that there was no violent clash or no one was struck etc. The man was relocated out of the ranks of the band with the majority of band members moving swiftly in the crowd to diffuse the situation before it escalated further and to get the band parading back up the road.

"Bear in mind we were the last band, so if he had waited another 10 seconds or so we would have been past and nothing would have ever happened.

"We for one feel the band did no wrong nor any harm during this but simply acted as any band has always done when anyone (GAA top or not) tries to walk through the band never mind making contact with a member.”

However, North Antrim Sinn Fein MLA Philip McGuigan has confirmed that the party has called for a meeting with the Parades Commission and the PSNI following the parade.

Mr McGuigan says the meeting is crucial following a number of incidents of "serious concern" in the town on Wednesday.

“I intend to raise this and the issue of future parading in Ballycastle town with the Parades Commission when I meet them.”
