Social media flooded with tributes to NI man Lee Diver after his sudden death

Tributes have flooded social media after the sudden death of Lee Diver last weekend.

The Co Tyrone man died on May 2.

SDLP MLA for West Tyrone Daniel McCrossan said: “It has been a very difficult and heartbreaking week for the Mills and Diver families and for so many young people across our town who are feeling the painful loss of such a young life.

“Over recent days we’ve all soon the huge outpouring of grief and many hundreds of tributes from so many young people who are heartbroken and devastated by the sad loss of their young friend, Lee Diver

“From the many social media posts, it is clear that young lee was widely loved by all who knew him, loved life, his family and his many friends.

“The loss of a young person is something that touches us all and has certainly had an impact on so many young people throughout the Strabane area. I know many young people will be struggling with the loss of their friend and some will be finding it difficult to cope.”

He added that two qualified mental health Councillors have reached out to me “to offer their support to any young person who feels they need someone to talk to”.

He added: “Never be afraid to reach out if you feel you need support or just someone to talk too or to listen.”

Countless posts and photographs on social media from friends of Mr Diver reveal their loss at his death.

One says: “Thoughts are with the family of lee diver as they will lay him to rest tomorrow,,, his mum Julie Kelly and dad Stephen Mills ,, grandad Tony Diver ,, and wider family circle at this difficult time may they find strength ,, he was such a happy popular young fella who lived his life to the best , may he rest in peace ❤️ god bless”.

“Words can’t describe how I’m feeling

My heart is broke to be texting you last night to this the smorning!! I love you so much❤️❤️ fly high my beautiful boy Lee Diver,” adds another.

Meanwhile another post says: “So sad to hear about the death of such a beautiful boy may he rip

May his mum and dad get the strength to keep going god bless you always X X X”

And another post adds: “Hearts in pieces even having to write this I’ve woke up to the worst news on Sunday morning and since then everything has just changed A piece of my heart has gone with you lee you really were an absolute blessing to everyone, I’ve never met anyone who has made me laugh the way you have you always brightened up every room you walked into with that beautiful smile of yours I am so glad to have had met you Lee and to call you my friend❤ Rest In Paradise our boy❤ Look over your family and friends at this hard time love you forever Lee Diver”.

Mr Diver’s funeral is being held today (May 6) in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane at 11a.m.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, siblings and grandparents.
