Two taken to hospital after road collision on busy NI road

A man and a woman were taken to hospital after a two vehicle collision which closed a NI road.

The collision happened on Wednesday on the Upper Springfield Road, Belfast

In a statement police said the collision happened before 12pm.

It added that officers responded, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

The statement adds that ‘a man and a woman, both aged in their fifties, were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries, not believed to be life threatening at this time’.

The road, which was closed for a short time, was reopened.
