Willie Drennan, a Co Antrim musician who has played with the Ulster Scots Folk Orchestra, this evening beat out a rhythm on his gigantic Lambeg drum during the clap-for-our-carers event at 8pm – something he has been doing weekly for the past month.

And this Thursday he has also uploaded a recording of a tune he previously penned called ‘Ower The Water’, and dedicated a new arrangement of it tonight to “those currently separated from their loved ones, across the ocean and closer to home – especially for the grandparents and their grandchildren”.

You can hear the drum-and-flute arrangement here.
