Former employees of Wrightbus are expected to stage a mass protest at Ballymena showgrounds later this week.

In a Tweet Unite the Union NI reveals their plans to be part of the protest.

The post says: "How to accommodate a mass rally of a thousand #Wrightbus workers? Step up #Ballymena showgrounds - who have offered Unite free use of their main stand. #SaveWrightbus Rally this Wednesday 4-6pm."

News of the protest comes as the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council announce a recruitment event for former Wrightbus employees tomorrow (Tuesday).

A Tweet said the event will be held on October 1 at The Braid from 10am to 2pm.

"Meet companies that are recruiting, find job opportunities and access practical advice and support," said the post.
