" It is my understanding that a petrol bomb was thrown at the house, causing scorch damage to both the front window of the property and a child’s bicycle.

“Thankfully, all occupants in the household escaped without any injuries. However, with three people in the house, including a young child, this attack could have proven fatal.

"I urge anyone with any information about this attack to please come forward and contact the police on 101, quoting reference 227 16/06/2020.”

DUP councillor Wilbert Buchanan said there was no place for this sort of behaviour in Cookstown.

"This is a quiet residential area and the town doesn't need this. We are just starting to recover from the Covid 19 pandemic and we need all the help we can get. We don't need any more setbacks," he said.
