A number of items were removed for further examination.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said: "Those responsible for this reckless attack showed blatant disregard for the occupants of the property and the local community.

"Thankfully, no-one was injured when this device detonated in the rear garden of the house.

"The overwhelming number of people in the community do not want this type of activity and we, as a police service, will continue to work to bring those responsible before the courts."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Street police station.
