Police launch attempted murder inquiry and make three arrests after city stabbing

The incident happened in the Great Victoria Street area. Detective Inspector Michael McDonnell said: “Police received a report of an altercation at this address at around 6:20pm. It was reported that a man, aged in his 20s, had been stabbed during the attack and had sustained life threatening injuries.

“The man was treated at the scene by the NIAS and subsequently taken to hospital where he remains.

“Three men, aged 19, 24 and 37, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder remain in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.”

He appealed for anyone who was in the Great Victoria Street area last night between 6pm and 6.30pm and saw anything suspicious, or who has information they believe may be useful, to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1067 of 06/03/18.
