With tongue firmly in cheek, both Paddy Power and Betfair offered odds of 500/1 that First Minister and DUP leader, Arlene Foster, would become the new manager at Parkhead.

Betting sites also offered odds of 500/1 that either DUP MP Ian Paisley Jnr or former Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams, could be Glasgow bound.

Lurgan man and former Northern Ireland international, Neil Lennon, resigned from his second spell as manager of Celtic on Wednesday morning.

First Minister, Arlene Foster.

Under Lennon, Celtic have performed well below expectation this season but his position has been made virtually untenable this season because of the remarkable return of bitter rivals Rangers to the very top of Scottish football.

Rangers are managed by former Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard and look set to win their first league title in a decade.
