Hillary Clinton to speak on America’s future relations with Northern Ireland

Queen’s University Belfast is to host an online conversation with Hillary Clinton which will explore America’s future relationship with Northern Ireland.

The online conversation will include the US Consul General for NI, Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, and will reflect on the challenges facing the new Biden administration, the future relationship with Northern Ireland and the broader UK, and the role of women in politics.

The online event – ‘Beyond Decision 2020’ – is being run in partnership with the University College London Centre on US Politics with support from the US Department of State and will broadcast on Thursday April 15.

The US consul general will be ‘in conversation’ with Hillary Clinton, a former US secretary of state, senator and first lady.

She has strong links with Northern Ireland and in 2018 received an honorary degree from QUB for her public service.

She is also QUB’s 11th and first female chancellor. Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau assumed her duties as US consul general in Belfast in September 2018.
