Home of disgraced Jeffrey Donaldson for sale at £650k
The luxurious Co Down home of disgraced Jeffrey Donaldson is on the market for £650,000.
The four-bedroom and three-bathroom home in rolling countryside to the east of Dromore was placed on property sites this week, handled by the Robert Wilson estate agency group.
Described as a “substantial detached country home”, the house is said to enjoy “beautiful, uninterrupted views of the Mourne Mountains” and a “remarkable outlook” over a south-facing garden that’s said to be a “generous landscaped site” just off a road between Lurgan and Dromore.
Photos placed with the listing show a definite wood-grain theme to the decor; its main hall has exposed pine flooring and wood-panelled ceilings, as well as wooden bannisters on its central twin flight staircase.
The kitchen, which contains an oil-fired Aga cooker as well as a standard oven, is listed as being “traditional maple” with granite worktops.
The estate agents said: “The accommodation offers a choice of spaces for both family life and entertaining, including a spacious lounge, dining hall, family room and sun room.
“There are four bedrooms, a study, family bathroom, en-suite and ground floor shower room. The guest bedroom is reached by a separate staircase from the rear hall, offering additional privacy for visitors.
“Outside, electric gates open onto a driveway with ample parking and an integral double garage. Landscaped gardens surround the house, while the south-facing rear garden, paved patios and secluded barbecue area provide wonderful places to enjoy the uninterrupted mountain views.”
Pictures show a first-floor study featuring two armchairs facing floor to ceiling windows taking in views of the Mourne Mountains. The study also contains framed pictures including a small US flag, 10 bookshelves, a globe and a small number of CDs in racks.
The spacious garden shows signs of having been well-maintained over the summer, its lawn looking to have been mown relatively recently.
Former DUP leader Donaldson is currently awaiting sentencing after being convicted of 18 historical sex offences, committed against two women when they were children.
