The Chief Whip in the House of Commons made the comments on state controlled English language Russian news channel, RT, last week.
President Biden has also shown his support for implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

The protocol, which is part of the withdrawal agreement designed and signed up to by both the British government and the European Union, keeps Northern Ireland inside both the EU's single market and customs union while Great Britain sits outside both.
It effectively means a trade and customs border now exists between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom in the Irish Sea.
"I hear the bigoted ignoramus, who has now taken over the White House, talk about the need to defend the Good Friday Agreement - I doubt whether the man has even read it," declared Mr. Wilson on live television.

Alliance Party MLA for East Antrim, Stewart Dickson, reacted to what Mr. Wilson said when he tweeted: "If there ever was a shred of doubt left why #EastAntrim needs a new MP Sammy just blew himself out of the water by calling President Biden “a bigoted ignoramus” #TimeToGoSammy."
