A podcast is similar to a radio broadcast except it is streamed or downloaded from the internet and can be played on demand.

The Weekly podcast, entitled ‘These Three Remain: Stories of Faith, Hope & Love from the Presbyterian Church in Ireland’, will include insights from a variety of ministers and leaders. Presenter, PCI’s Discipleship Development Officer, Rick Hill, said they were created remotely, in keeping within the government guidelines. “But I hope everyone who listens to the podcast, which will go out each Wednesday, will find them informative, useful, and fun.”

The first episode explores how congregations are adapting given that church buildings are closed and church activities have ceased. It features conversations with Revs Kathryn Viner from Malone Presbyterian in Belfast, Stephen McNie, from Ballyalbany and Glennan Presbyterian Churches in County Monaghan and Nigel Craig of Belmont Presbyterian in Belfast.

“Over the next few weeks the series will also explore the need to re-imagine youth, children’s and family ministry, support people in this time of crisis and disciple people form a distance,” Rick said.

In the first broadcast Nigel talks about doing school assemblies online for pupils to engage with, and public worship. Kathryn talks about a buddy system within her congregation and in the community to offer help and support. And Stephen talks about live-streaming Sunday worship and supporting the local foodbank.
