The PSNI made the appeal on their Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

Police described him as a “young fella about 16-years-old wearing the navy hoody driving his wee scrambler on the Lagan tow path”, and appealed for him to “please go home” before “injuring himself or someone else”.

The post added: “So far we have passed dozens of people some very elderly and some with very young children enjoying their day in the sun and don’t need it spoilt by you.”

They also asked the scrambler rider to “alternatively come and have a chat with us, we’d just like to get to know you better”.
