PSNI confirm Daithi McKay affair has been raised with them

Daithi McKay's conduct has now been raised with police, the PSNI have confirmed.

The DUP had pledged that they would raise the matter with the force after the revelations about his contact with a witness at a Stormont committee was revealed.

On Monday this week, when asked if any complaint had been received about Daithi McKay, the PSNI had responded: “No complaint has been made to police.”

The DUP then said today (Tuesday) that a letter had been delivered to PSNI headquarters last week, asking them to “investigate whether any criminal offence has taken place”.

When it was put to police that the DUP letter had been delivered days ago, they said: “Following receipt of correspondence this matter is currently being assessed.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

Sinn Fein said it would co-operate with any police investigation which emerges.
