Reminder to register for EU vote in next several days

The Electoral Commission has reminded voters that voters who are not already registered need to complete and return an electoral registration form by Tuesday June 7, ahead of the vote on Thursday, June 23.

Voters do not need to re-register separately if they are already correctly registered to vote at their current address.

Ann Watt, head of the Electoral Commission in Northern Ireland said: “The EU Referendum is an historic event and there are many people in Northern Ireland who will miss out on it simply because they aren’t registered to vote.”

A helpline has been set up to answer questions about registering and voting.
