Sandra Champman does not understand the doctor dispute

I've just read Sandra Chapman's article (April 30, '˜Ulster doctor tries to knock sense into striking colleagues').

I felt I needed to reply as the article left me angry and frustrated. I’ve never read Sandra Chapman’s column before but she should in future actually research her topic before publishing garbage.

The doctors in England are striking to benefit patient safety and the future of our precious NHS.

Her article is so ridiculous and misleading I don’t know where to start. The Ulster doctor she speaks of is a F1 Dr, ie first year qualified. He has little to no experience of the pressures of the NHS.

I think you’ll find 99% of ‘Ulster doctors’ support our striking colleagues in England and would do the same here should such a contract be introduced.

The new contract is both unsafe and sexist. How dare Sandra Chapman insinuate we are “more interested in politics and our pay packet” than our patients. Her lack of understanding of true facts is very apparent on this matter.

I she will do some better research and consequently apologise for publishing such comments. I doubt it though.

It may have been a good idea to actually to someone in the medical profession before publishing.

Please give more care to topics you clearly don’t understand in future.
