On Wednesday morning, the PSNI said that they had carried out a search of the flat in the Custom House Square area one day earlier.

Cannabis plants with an approximate street value of £25,000 and a quantity of herbal cannabis were seized at the address.

The woman was arrested at a separate address in north Belfast.

She has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Glenn from Reactive and Organised Crime in Larne said: “This search and arrest come as part of a follow-up operation to the seizure of cannabis in Carrickfergus in December 2015.

“Our enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
