Sick robbers steal pensioner's life savings

A woman in her 80s has had her life savings stolen during a terrifying robbery ordeal.

The pensioner’s daughter and great-granddaughter were both tied up during the robbery in Lagmore, west Belfast.

Sinn Fein’s Jennifer McCann condemned those responsible as the “lowest of the low”.

“This was an absolutely shocking incident. Men entered the home of a woman in her 80s in Lagmore and stole her life savings,” she said.

“During the robbery the pensioner’s daughter and grand-daughter were tied up. This was a terrifying ordeal for all the victims of these thugs.

“I wish them all a full and speedy recovery.

“Those behind this appalling incident are the lowest of the low.”

She added: “This is a community which cares deeply about our older citizens and they must be free to lives their lives without fear.

“I would urge anyone with information on this incident to bring it forward to the PSNI so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”
