Sudden death of well-known loyalist band member
Jonny Hamilton of the Pride of Ardoyne flute band is understood to have collapsed at his home on Sunday night.
Belfast’s deputy lord mayor Guy Spence knew Mr Hamilton well.

Hide AdThe DUP councillor expressed his condolences on Twitter. He said: “Thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jonny Hamilton. Good memories of the big man, he’ll be sorely missed.”
PUP councillor Julie-Anne Corr tweeted: “Can’t believe what I’m reading. Heart goes out to Denise, kids, his family, POA and wider Upper Ardoyne comm. Rest easy Jonny, taken far 2 soon.”
Her party colleague Winston Irvine said: “Heart-breaking news about the untimely death of local upper Ardoyne lad Jonny Hamilton. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
West Belfast UPRG Twitter page described Mr Hamilton as a “gentleman”.

Hide AdAnother friend said Mr Hamilton will be sorely missed: “A great fella and a friend to all in the band. Had time for everyone.”
The nightly protest parade to police lines at Twaddell Avenue on Monday was replaced with a short vigil as a mark of respect to Mr Hamilton.
