Temporary speed restrictions on part of M1 after crash

After a crash on the M1 last night, a temporary speed restriction has been set up today.

Last night (Thursday) the M1 between Portadown and the Birches slipway was closed in both directions after the Road Traffic Collision (RTC).

This morning a PSNI spokesperson said: “This was a one vehicle RTC reported to police at 7.30 pm, with no injuries reported to police.

“The road has reopened.”

There is a Temporary Speed Restriction on that section of M1 Motorway between J12 and J13 in both directions due to an RTC and damage to the safety barrier.

It is understood this is liikely to remain in place for a number of days until a repair can be organised.
