Dear Secretary of State,

​It is with regret that I write to you today as our situation appears to be worsening.

We have again had our civil and religious liberties removed by the Parade Commission, an organisation which is unrepresentative of a substantial section of people in Northern Ireland, who base their decisions on murderous threats from dissident republicans.

“The continued attack on Unionist/Loyalist culture has not enhanced the Peace Process, indeed every decision by the Parades Commission reverses the process and further disenfranchises the Unionist/Loyalist community.

“This is not a Fresh Start for the Unionist/Loyalist Community; this is indeed a false dawn.

“Therefore we call for the disbandment of the unelected, unrepresentative Parades Commission with immediate effect and the return of our basic human rights of civil and religious liberty.

“Inaction [on] this request will deny us of our basic human rights.”
