Air ambulance takes motorcyclist to hospital after serious RTC

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious two vehicle crash this afternoon (Tuesday July 28).

The Gosford Road on the main Armagh to Newry Road close to Markethill remains closed.

According to the PSNI, police came across the Road Traffic Collision (RTC) at 2.56pm this afternoon.

A motorcycle and a van were involved.

Police said the Air Ambulance airlifted the motorcyclist to hospital.

There are no other reports of injuries at this time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The Gosford Road in Markethill has been closed in both directions following a road traffic collision.

“Diversions are in place.”
