During the homily, Rev Eamon Graham - PP of Lavey in Co Londonderry and a friend of the family - extended his sympathies to Kevin's wife Ann and three daughters - Valerie, Linda and Emma as well as his grandchildren, siblings and wider family circle.

"Here in Omagh we are very proud of the place we live in and grew up in and have a great pride in this place," added Father;;;

"Omagh is a collection of many, many people. Kevin summed up all that was best in Omagh and the place is poorer for having lost him."

"She said that her father had no hobbies apart from talking to people," he said.

"Kevin just loved talking. And in some ways Kevin could not have survived being sick, injured or being looked after. Maybe his family will take comfort from thjis as difficult as it is."

The cleric said Kevin met his wife Ann in 1964 at a dance and they went on to marry and have three daughters.

He added that Kevin, who was the eldest of six children, started helping with a bread run when he was 15-years-old after finding "that school was just not for him".

"I don't know if they have ice cream in heaven but he is selling it if it is there."
