Motorists asked to seek alternative routes after two lanes of traffic closed on M2 motorway after collision

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes for their journey, following a road traffic collision at the M2 Foreshore before the turn off for Fortwilliam this afternoon (Wednesday 12th August).

The appeal was made by the PSNI on Twitter.

Two outside lanes country-bound were closed following the incident and motorists are being advised of delays this lunchtime

A post on TrafficwatchNI reveals that the crash happened leaving Belfast on the M2 North Bound.

“Blocking Lanes 1 and 2 towards the #M5 at below Forthwilliam Bridge,” it adds.

“Long delays back to start of the #M2”.
