NI Weather: This is what to expect on the roads tomorrow morning

The post adds that ‘the salting of roads on the scheduled network considered to be at risk is planned for later today’.

It adds that ‘road Users are advised to exercise caution when travelling on untreated roads’.

Meanwhile the Met Office are reporting that this evening and tonight will be “mainly dry” with “clear periods and light winds and some fog or freezing fog”.

It adds that “Antrim and Down will become cloudy with a few showers”.

They say the minimum temperature will be -3 °C.

Tomorrow morning - Monday - will see “a few showers in the east, then the north coast” with most seeing “a dry day with some sunny spells”.

“Freezing fog patches in the west lifting”.

The Met Office forecast the maximum temperature to be 6 °C.

The forecaster adds that the forecast for Tuesday to Friday is: “Windy on Tuesday with occasional rain mainly in the east.

“Dry, bright with lighter winds on Wednesday then rain, possibly heavy at times on Thursday”.

AND a post today from the NI Weather & Flood Advisory Service has issued the following weather warning - “A LOW warning of FOG & ICE has been issued for Northern Ireland.

“Freezing fog is affecting parts of NI this afternoon, it is expected to become more widespread into this evening, overnight and tomorrow morning.

“Visibility will be significantly reduced leading to a risk of disruption to travel.

“The public are advised to take extra care if driving and remember to use fog lights (Switch lights off again if fog clears)

“Ice may become an additional hazard later.

“Salting of roads on the scheduled network considered to be at risk is planned for later today. Road Users are advised to exercise caution when travelling on untreated roads.”
