NI’s popular resort towns ‘virtually empty’ of visitors despite glorious Easter weather

Northern Ireland’s most popular resort towns, including Portrush and Porstewart, were once again reported to be virtually empty of seasonal visitors over the Easter weekend.

The PSNI were continuing to enforce the coronavirus lockdown in those north coast towns on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

With the good weather over the weekend, the town’s beaches would normally be expected to be thronging with visitors.

Police carried out spot checks on vehicles heading towards the north coast, while the PSNI’s Air Support team viewed the region from above.

Other beauty spots were reported to be busier though, including beaches closer to Belfast.
