A warning for ice issued on Monday was already in place until 10am this morning.

According to the latest forecast from the Met Office we can expect a ‘sharp frost’ tonight with the odd freezing fog patch with temperatures expected to dip to a low of -4.

The Met Office advises : “Icy stretches likely to cause difficult travel conditions” and that “icy surfaces cause difficult travel conditions in places.”

And advise the public to expect - ‘some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfacess’ and ‘probably some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths’.
