Fallen trees have affected :-

  • Old Portglenone Rd near Garvaghy Rd
  • Woodside Rd near Moore's Concrete
  • Moneyreagh Road, Moneyreagh
  • Island Road Lower, Ballycarry
  • Bryansford Road, Newcastle. Closed due to a fallen tree
  • Crumlin Road near Carlisle Circus, Belfast, partially obstructed
  • Shore Rd near Magheramorne Railway Stn, partially obstructed
  • Killycarnan Road, Newtownbutler. Road completely obstructed.

Reports of a land slip on the A2 Shore Road, Glenarm. Road partially obstructed. Please approach with care.

The following road closures are in place after the recent weather warnings.

Co Down

  • The U332 Tullymacnous Road, Killyleagh is closed due to flooding (added 9/11/23)
  • A2 Shore Road leaving Rostrevor is reopened under a lane closure, traffic lights are in operation.  
  • A2 Newcastle Road North of Kilkeel closed due to subsidence. Remedial works ongoing. 
  • Artifinny Road (passable with care)
  • Ballynahinch - Drumgiven Road closed from Creevyargon Road to Cahard Road due to severe flooding. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.
  • B3 Ballynaskeagh Road – TTM/lights in place to allow safe passage of traffic between Bronte Road and Emdale Road (verge collapsed at two separate locations).
  • Callan River burst banks.
  • B3 Legannany Road between Loughbrickland and Scarva – Road closed between Old Mill Road junction to Lisnagade Road junction. Due to damage/collapse of a section of masonry retaining/parapet wall into the adjacent river.
  • Leapoges Road and Dromara Road / Black Bog Road closed due to flooding.
  • Maygannon Lane, donaghcloney - closed due to flooding
  • Newry - Greenan Road, Poyntpass is closed from:- Rockmeeting Road to Blackridge Road. Please seek an alternative route for your journey. (20:26)
  • Old Road, Maghaberry (closed due to flooding)
  • St James Road (closed due to flooding)

Co Armagh

  • C180 Cloveneden Rd remains closed near Cockle Hill junction – carriageway collapsed road not safe for traffic (last update Sun 5 Nov 23 @16:00)

Co Tyrone

  • Aughnacloy : Rehaghey road : culvert collapse and road slip

Co Antrim

  • Dunadry Rd and Steeple Rd at M2 bridge all closed

Heavy rain and strong winds associated with Storm Debi may bring disruption and flooding to parts of Northern Ireland on Monday

  • Flying debris is likely and could lead to injuries or danger to life
  • Probably some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
  • Longer journey times and cancellations likely, as road, rail, and ferry services are affected
  • Some roads and bridges likely to close
  • There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
  • Injuries and danger to life is likely from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties

Further details

A spell of very strong winds is expected to develop on Monday morning across County Armagh and County Down in association with Storm Debi. Inland gusts of 60-65 mph are likely in places whilst along the coast gusts of up to 75 mph are expected. Winds will gradually ease during the afternoon.
