Two patients rushed to Royal Victoria Hospital after serious road collision at NI roundabout

Two patients have been taken to the Royal Vistoria Hospital in Belfast after a serious accident earlier today on Armagh Road, Newry near to the Fiveways Shop and Service Station.

A spokesman from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a call today

at 11.25am following reports of a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) on Armagh Road, Newry near to the Fiveways Shop and Service Station.

He said that NIAS despatched one rapid response paramedic, one Ambulance Officer and three Emergency crews to the incident.

He added that the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board were also tasked to the incident.

Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were transported by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
